Kerkini

Lake Kerkini, situated about 30 km from Serres, is a 17 km long and 5 km wide artificial water reservoir, built in 1930 on the Strymon River. As it is situated in the migratory flyway, the lake hosts thousands of birds, 227 kinds of birds have been recorded.
